Do You Have Patience?

thHave you ever been so excited about something you get in a hurry to do it or find out about it? If you have then we must have something in common.

Well the other day, I talked with my sister over the phone. We decided to go read the bible to our 90 year old great grandmother, So that we could spend time with her and do something all three of us enjoyed. After I got off the phone, I was rushing around the house getting my three boys and I dressed and ready to leave. Then as we were headed out of the house, I had my hands full.  Have you ever seen that picture of a person caring in Walmart bags, full of groceries, with their arms full about to break? Well that’s how I am. I would rather break an arm than make two trips! I had my youngest boy in my arms, along with a car seat, my purse, the diaper bag, and my bible. Well Instead of breaking an arm I roll my angle. No big deal, just too much pain for this gal to handle. I figured it was broken so I called my husband to come rescue me and take me to get my ankle X-rayed.

So we drove 30 minutes to the emergency room. Then sat in the waiting room for 2 hours before, they came and took me to get my ankle X-rayed. Then we sat back in the waiting room for the results. Finally, after waiting for another hour, we got told it was not broken, I just stretched some ligaments. The Dr. gave me my crutches and my script, and so we left and headed to Walmart for my script. Well we had to wait just 45 minute till the script would be done. So I was getting a bit flustered and inpatient and so was my husband that needed to get back to work…

Along with all this, I had another situation where I was tested on my patients.

I offered to help someone and I was told they would get back to me and let me know if they still needed me. So I waited for a day or so till I called them, to see if I could help. Well they still did not know. So then I waited impatiently for them to come to me. Well after about a week, I went to them and asked. I got told no because they ended up with the help they needed. So I said okay and tried to keep it together and stay positive. Well once I got in my car alone, I balled my eyes out and thought all the negative things I could. Like, I was not good enough and I could not have done it anyways. Witch was not the case! A few days later, I got put in a spot that I also enjoyed and wanted to help in.

So now I will tell you what I learned from all this and how I got closer with God.

Blessing 1… Don’t get in too big of a hurry with your walk with God, because when crisis’s come’s it can cause you to stumble and fall. Slow down and listen to what God wants you to hear. Study the Word that God has provided for us, full of examples on how He wants us to live. Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery. (1 Timothy 4:13-14)

Blessing 2… When you don’t get the answer you want. Don’t get so upset you lose sight of God and stumble in your walk with Jesus Christ. And all men shall fear, and shall declare the work of God; for they shall wisely consider of his doing. The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and shall trust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory. (Psalms 64: 9-10)

Blessing 3… God had a different plan for my life. I need to be patient and let him lead me where He wants me to be! Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD. (Psalms 27:14) Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the LORD is. (Ephesians 5:17)

Have You Ever Been Selfish?

Have you ever had plans in your head and had your heart set on it and it all get messed up? Well I have and I don’t do so Hot when it happens!

thVHHPBP3Q

So, the other day my family had plans for a weekend and I had it set in my heart how it was going to go. I was plum excited and waited moths for our plans to happen. Well, came that time to do what was planned and found out we had to switch up some things and miss out on a few things that we had already planned for. So instead of going along with it, I just complained in my head on how miserable it was that plans got changed.

Anyways, out of five of us in my family, I was the only one moping around about it. See, the thing that we had to attend to was going to be fun! Only if I had not been thinking the whole time, it was going to suck and why can’t we just do what was already planned, I would have had an amazing time with my family. Instead I caused the whole family to not have as much fun as we could have, if I would have just enjoyed the blessing of the family being together and getting to go to such a fun place, I would have had a Blast!

Well after it was all said and done, I realized a few things. Had a few blessings! A blessing to me is something that will lead me closer to God.

Blessing 1… I was being selfish and putting what I wanted to do first! Well there are a few things God says about being selfish. We are to put others first! 2. Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification. 3. For even Christ please not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me. (Romans 15:2-3)

Blessing 2… If I am being selfish, I am hateful, causing fights; not making peace, and following the devil. We are to do the complete opposite.. For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. (James 3:16)

Blessing 3… I am a follower of God and so I am changing my ways and following the way God wants me to be. So there is no room for selfishness! If Jesus put all of us first I believe we are to do the same! If Jesus thought about himself, we all would not be able to be forgiven! Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends…. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. (John 15: 13,19) Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shell a man give in exchange for his soul? (Matthew 16:24-26) I don’t know about you but I have a Lot of things I need to change to be more like Jesus! Also there is not time to be selfish!

If you have any comments or thoughts, I would Love to read them!

Good or Bad Choices?

12166116_1219946164688726_1049599224_n        The other day I went to visit my sister. We both where really thirsty and wanted something cold drink! Well, on the third shelf was a cold Pepsi. We both where thinking the same thing and had to make a choice. Soda makes her and I sick to our stomachs along with a headache, but we both love the taste of it. So we debated on whether to drink the Pepsi or not. Well, we both gave in and decided being sick was worth it.

Not even an hour later, I start complaining about how sick I felt. Thinking to myself, I should not have drunk that stupid Pepsi.

“I will never drink a soda again,” I tell my sister.

“Me either,” she replied, “I have a headache”.

The Next day I went to visit my sister again. Well as you can probably guess, there was a cold Pepsi in the Refrigerator. So we go through the same debate as yesterday, and we gave in. So we drink the Pepsi knowing, we should not be drinking it, not caring about the consequences. For the second time, I get sick again. Thinking and saying the same thing.

“I will never drink another soda again!” I grumble to my sister, and of course she agreed with me, since she was feeling sick also.

The whole purpose of this silly story is because; through all these poor choices there are blessings! A blessing to me is anything that gets me thinking about and closer to God.

Blessing 1. The devil likes to bribe us and side tract us from our relationship with Jesus Christ. The devil makes it look good and sound amazing. Well just a little reminder, the devil is a liar. For example, The Pepsi was cold and taste good, but in the end it makes me sick! Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. (Matthew 4:1) I recommend you read on Matthew 4:1-11 to find out what Jesus did and what the devil did.

Blessing 2. We all have a choice to do good or bad. We have a choice to follow Jesus or the devil. Was it good or was it bad, that I drank the soda? It was bad on my part. No it was not keeping me from continuing on my walk with God, but there are other things in my life that I need to stop doing because, I know they are making me struggle with my walk with God. Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin. (James 4:17)

Blessing 3. If I mess up and fail my Lord, I can repent and be forgiven. But just remember, the more you sin, the easier it gets and the more you will do it. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)

Disobeying Much?

th2MY3BYMG

The other day, my three year old wanted yogurt. When my kids ask for things they get it first, then they ask. I don’t know if they feel that by doing so, it makes it harder for me to say NO or what? So anyways, he got the big canister of yogurt, brought it to me and ask, in his sweet little voice that I love, “Momma can I have some Yogurt?”

“Not right now babe,” I replied, “go put it up”. He goes to put the yogurt up, without winning. He sounds like the best behaved son alive, right? Well let me go on… As he carries it to the refrigerator, he does so with ONE hand, ABOVE his head.

“Don’t hold it above your head!” I yelled. “Don’t hold it above your head!” Well he did not listen the first time I warned him, or the second time. So he dropped it on the floor, in the kitchen. (Need I remind you it was a big canister; it was also band new, and was still sealed before it hit the floor.) He was speechless and I was fierce.

“Look what you did!” Me choosing to react like the ‘old me’ hatefully yelling, instead of being loving and patient, like God has shown me to be. “Go sit in your daddy’s chair”. He started crying because I yelled and he already felt bad for the mess he made. Before I go to clean up the mess, it went through my head how I do the same thing as an adult! So I go sit next to him.

“Let’s talk; did you know that mommy makes messes to? Sometimes, God tells me to do something or to stop doing something and I disobey Him, which leads to a big mess for God to clean up and fix.” Then I tickle him to make him laugh. “Mommy loves you.”

So to the point….

The big mess ended up being a blessing and an eye opener to me and my walk with God.

Blessing 1. I realized God is patient and we are to be patient, even when crisis come up. Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:1-2)

Blessing 2. Made me realize I need to Obey and listen to Gods Voice when he speaks to me, so I do not Make a mess for him to clean up or fix. By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name: (Romans 1:5) Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, we ought to obey God rather than men. (Acts 5:29)

Blessing 3. Made Me thankful I have a forgiving God.. The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. Then the Lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt. (Matthew 18:26-27)
